Calixte Wouters

Calixte Wouters graduated in 1964 from Sint-Lucas in Schaerbeek as an architect.

He later designed immersive environments such as Thalamus (1969–1972), A7 (1964–1969), and Cerebrum in the United States (1973).

Afterwards, Calixte continued his practice in conceptual art, designed posters for major brands, and organized conferences for political parties.

His main sources of inspiration include Andy Warhol, Joseph Beuys, Günther Uecker, and the ZERO group.

Calixte's work represents a free interpretation of the many artistic movements that emerged after Pop Art.

He remains active today, working in his spacious studio near Alden Biesen. To date, his oeuvre comprises more than 500 works spanning different periods and styles.

The works of Calixte can be described as authentic, special, and exclusive.
